Just in case you’re spent the first half of the year living under a rock, we’ll catch you up on the importance of video in marketing: 2017 has been heralded the Year of Video Marketing, all types of Corporate Video (commercials, product demos, branding videos, company culture videos and more) are proven to increase website conversion and produce consistently high ROI, and video humanizes your business by giving a face to your brand name in a way that no other advertising can.
Today, let’s explore the new trend in online marketing, a tool that can kick start a video revolution in your workplace today. Put your creative socks on, as we unpack the power of Personalized Response Videos.
THE WHAT
If you are already aware of PVRs (Personalized Video Responses) then you’re in the minority. It’s an untapped goldmine that early adopters (including big brands such as Dell and Warby-Parker Eyewear) have started to tap. The basic gist is that instead of responding to a customer (or potential customer) with an email, tweet or even phone response, you create a quick, personalized video response. Before you stop reading and file this away under “too much effort required”, the recorded results are too good to ignore:
- “Businesses See 500% Lift in Email Conversion with Personalized Video.“
- “4.5x increase in click-through rate and 400% higher open rates for email.”
- “2x more engagement and 62% more time on referenced landing page.”
THE WHY
Impressive right? Our team captain (Tyler, Creative Director and CEO of Front Runner Films) personally felt the power of PVRs when shopping for a new car recently:
“I made the mistake of entering a bunch of cars into Truecar.com. Predictably, I immediately got hit with a ton of calls and emails, but one stood out. A personal video response from Sales person Malena Riccardelli at Peterson Stampede. It really reinforced everything we preach; that video makes a huge difference and gets business’ noticed in a crowded market.”
PVR can be used to answer a question about your products or services, or used to thank customers for their purchase or their reviews online. They also have a much higher rate of response that standard cold-call sales emails and voicemail messages, success rates jumping from around 5% to 13.3%.
THE HOW
Perhaps most importantly for busy sales reps, PVR’s don’t have to take a lot of time or effort. All you need is a smart phone, and a colleague who’s willing to hit the record button. Here are some more tips to help you achieve a great quality video message:
- Make sure there’s nothing distracting in the background
- Make sure it’s not too noisy and your voice is loud and clear.
- Try and keep it to 2 mins duration maximum.
- Mention your recipient’s name in your initial greeting, and at least once more during the recording.
- Video files can be too large for email, so post your video to Youtube and send the link.
- In the description of the video, make sure you list your contact details and links to any other relevant information.
- Most of all just have fun and let your unique personality shine through!
Don’t be shy, why not try it today? We hope you’ll see for yourself how powerful engaging with your customers via video can be.
