Stay Classy, Stay Stylish

Jun 17, 2019

Marketing and branding are tricky practices. They are both multifaceted, and require a certain finesse when predicting what’s going to be most pertinent to your audience. Just like fashion, taste and styles are always evolving and changing.

For this upcoming season, here are some do’s and don’ts to spruce up your marketing closet!

DO

Say hello to micro influencers

Using a compelling, human personality across social media platforms is a great way to boost customer engagement. Rather than dumping loads of money into one, big-name influencer, try using micro influencers! This is a large group of social media personalities that have small to medium followings, who cost much less than your average mega-star. Being able to reach out to multiple micro influencers will reach a wider audience, due to your product being promoted by multiple sources.

DON’T

“Un-brand” your branded content

There’s been a sort of revolt in the marketing world lately, where brands who are trying to be hip and modern are creating beautiful, story-driven content that has absolutely NOTHING to do with their brand! Make sure you are keeping a focus on what your brand is all about and instead–

DO

Start telling the story of your brand

Integrated storytelling is so important when it comes to marketing campaigns. Being able to tell a heartfelt, humorous story around your product is what will catch the attention of a majority of viewers, and will also introduce them to the human side of your brand.

DO

Shut down “Clickbait”

Clickbait is an unsavory, and out of date phenomenon that businesses need to toss into the trash ASAP! These false headlines that promise something other than what you are delivering, cause your viewer to become inherently distrustful of you and your product.

DO

Create date-driven headlines

People like facts, and the internet makes it insanely easy to check those facts. Use real life data to fuel your headlines, and facts with substantial backing to draw people’s attention rather than false-advertising.

DON’T

Auto-Blog

For those that are unfamiliar with auto-blogging, this is an algorithm that takes preexisting content from the internet, shuffles, and then reposts it as a blog for your platform. This is a sure-fire way to deprive your audience of your brand’s voice! Not to mention, it’s just lazy… and who wants to work with a lazy company?
